One of the most rewarding—and often challenging—things about singing Barbershop is being in a quartet. Quartetting means that you are the only one on your voice part. Being the only bass, bari, tenor, or lead can seem quite intimidating if you’ve never done it before. At the same time, you learn so much from doing it. Your confidence grows, your ability to blend, harmonize, and stay in tune increases… it’s the bread and butter of being in a Barbershop Chorus. If you’ve never done it before, you’re missing out on one of the most thrilling things you can do in Barbershop!
